POLISTEP, lightweight, durable and versatile sandwich panel with a polypropylene honeycomb core and skins in fibreglass reinforced with epoxy resin.
This panel offers unique characteristics since it combines lightweight with high mechanical properties. The application of this panels for example permits huge savings as far as weight and thickness of the slabs of natural stones, such as marbles and granite and mosaics are concerned. In this way, also the costs of these materials can be reduced.
Technical features
POLISTEP is a sandwich panel made by impregnating a fibreglass with epoxy resin and then bonding it to a core of polypropylene honeycomb. Fibreglass panels permit to reduce the thickness of the stone slab used, resulting in much lighter yet equally durable surfaces and claddings. Panels from the STEP series are purchased by art galleries as supports for their works. In particular, Disney has created some of its beautiful mosaics using CEL Components panels.
